It was fascinating to see enthusiasts turn up in large numbers at the Salesforce Basecamp ‘2017 at JW Marriot, Sahar despite incessant rains in Mumbai. If you could not make it, here is what you need to know:
The basecamp comprised of key sessions in the main hall, breakout sessions, expo theatre, workshops and campground events showcasing the variety of offerings and constituents that make up Salesforce. One such expo was about salesforce.org, reinforcing Arxxus’ belief in pledge 1% to give back to the society.
The event kick-started with the Keynote address from Eileen O’Mara, SVP, commercial sales, highlighting Salesforce’s key differentiators: Intelligence, Speed, Productivity, Mobility, and Connectivity, setting the tone for the upcoming sessions.
Sunil Jose, Senior Area VP, India, spoke about how digital transformation is changing the world emphasizing that digital transformation is no more a board room discussion, but is already touching all facets of the business.
The sessions were interlaced with interesting customer videos. In one video, Fonterra spoke about how they have consolidated 30 different CRM applications into one i.e. Salesforce and how they are already the biggest in the world and want to become the fastest with Salesforce.
Rowena Westphalen, Managing Director, Ignite, spoke about the collaboration between Salesforce Einstein and IBM Watson and how it is changing the world of customer service and marketing
Jason Wild, SVP, Enterprise Innovation for Ignite, said, “AI is becoming more empathetic, creative and familiar. The future is now. AI is a companion, a friend. Unlike most science fiction, it is ‘us and them (AI)’ collaborating to make a better future, not ‘us versus them’.” It was great to watch how AI is already touching millions of lives every day.
It was great to see the #SalesforceOhana coming together to reinforce the quote by Marc Benioff: “You need to get to the future, ahead of your customers, and be there to greet them when they arrive”.
